Made in Yorkshire are delighted to announce that Leeds-based sub-contract precision sheet metal manufacturer, Applied Metal Technology have joined as our newest Silver member.

Applied Metal recently announced expansion within their business with the addition of four new welding plants and a three metre press brake. This has increased their capacity and clients are now benefiting from even quicker lead times.

They work with clients from a diverse range of industries from shop-fitting, signage and telecommunications to name but a few, who all have one thing in common, they demand quality parts supplied to specification at competitive prices and delivered on time.

Managing Director of Applied Metal, Alan Malcolm stated: “I want to use Made in Yorkshire as a platform to get out there and meet people, who will hopefully be like-minded, so it should be really good for us.”

At the turn of the New Year, manufacturers are now faced with the prospect of Great Britain’s official Brexit from the European Union. At a time of nationwide uncertainty, now is a greater time than ever for manufacturers to join forces and strengthen their businesses locally.

Alan added: “I think networking is crucial to be honest, as I can see people's confidence and see where the industry is moving. With regards to Brexit, we have put on hold purchasing a Fibre laser cutting machine until things settle down . It will be interesting to talk to other Made in Yorkshire members.”

Made in Yorkshire’s first breakfast networking event of the year will take place on 3rd March in York at Portakabin’s Head Office. The event will create a great opportunity for local manufacturing and engineering companies to meet and discuss future business opportunities.

Made in Yorkshire Managing Director, Jason Pitt said: “It is fantastic news that Applied Metal Technology have joined Made in Yorkshire. We are looking forward to seeing their team at our future events and it is great to hear that they have so much passion for networking with local manufacturers.”
